Opinions Are Like Skin

I don't mind good advice on occasion , opinions, or even a good old debate every now and again. But one thing that gets under my skin is a self made, know it all, (sometimes) vegan nutritionist .
Don't get me wrong I do live by you are what you eat and I'll even admit I can eat a little better but telling me to just flush my pills down the toilet and suddenly cutting all meats out of my diet isn't exactly the answer either. When given this advice, most people usually dont even exactly know whats going on with me. They just see my wheelchair hear a sickness, then start their teatmeant plans. Patience, dedication and self discipline are the key ingredients to this life change. But isn't life about choice? Shoving a health article or story in my face every time you see me is pretty much a way to get me to do the total opposite of taking your health advice. Yes, I know the advice is more than likely coming from a good place but the people that are usually giving the advice aren't practicing what they preach either.
I'm not saying I'm not open to advice but when approaching a person going through something, anything whether it may be an illness , relationship, or tragedy, don't just shove information down someone's throat making them feel like their life depends on it .
Sometimes I ask people to really envision themselves in my situation, then ask them would they take their own advice? Things are usually easier said than done.
