Side Effects

Do you over think? Have you ever felt like you see more people than you'd like, living your dream? Have you ever just wanted to give up, like there was just nowhere to go? Do you ever feel like you deserve the bad you've been through? This may be a side effect from a a condition called, You need to free yourself. I've discovered that not just medications have side effects. Our choices, the company we keep, even the music we listen to also have side effects.
Have you ever thought about something or someone, then you see that person or a commercial about it soon after? These are the side effects of our thoughts. Or if you listen to a song about breaking up or being cheated on and now you want to end a relationship but then you remember your single... When i was first diagnosed, my mindset was my biggest downfall. For example, when your in a rush looking for something, you cant find it when your rushing in the moment, but as soon as you calm down, you realize it was right in front of you all along. A side effect from pessimism and not expecting to find it anyway... I would tell myself things to destroy my own confidence and as a side effect, depression, and confusion crept in. Like a daily dose of toxic medication, i would produce these foul thoughts, producing all these tainted side effects to go along with it.
We don't always realize the affects different energies can truly have on us until you find yourself doing things you wouldn't normally do, saying things you may not normally say... When we aren't happy with ourselves , its easy to be distracted, intimidated, and critical to ourselves... As in being consumed with someone else or their life. Like social media for instance. Only bad side affects come from obsessing over someone else's life when your trying to figure out your own. I used to find myself comparing my life to a person living a life that I'd somewhat visualized for myself. A side effect from that was losing myself... The more i would obsess about someone else and what they were doing and what i wasn't, i was losing myself. I'd almost forgotten my vision for myself because i would wake up and scroll my timeline before i even got up to brush my teeth. I soon realized that that was the source of my downward spiral.I started being so consumed at other people live out their dreams, i was forgetting mine. I had to stop getting online and comparing my life to others. Once i realized that and i cut my daily routine of logging on comparing , i realized i had to get back to me. Once i stopped taking that daily dose of negativity and self doubt, the side affects stopped.
I stopped taking daily doses of self destruction... I replaced the time i was spending watching people that seemed to be living the successful life I'd visualized for myself, with actions and thoughts of self motivation so i can fulfill my own dreams.I had to reverse the side effects of feeling like someone else's dream had become mine. I had to remember my dreams weren't impossible. I had to watch the things i consumed, not as in food , but the things i watched , the music i listened to, the people i hung around, they all had side effects, some good and some bad. I had to start taking doses of optimism and confidence. The side effects were letting go of what people think about me, my relationships got better , i was overall happier once i changed my "daily medication." Watch what you invite into your atmosphere , into your soul ...Whats your daily dose?
